- Cooling capacity (BTU/hr or watts): the honest measure. Ignore HP – it varies by chiller design. BTU/hr directly translates to “how much heat can this remove per hour.”
- Tub volume (gallons): larger tub = more water = more energy to cool. Small tubs (60 gal) recover fast even with weak chillers. Large tubs (150+ gal) need serious chillers.
